Support

On support — and on getting it right.

“Support” means two different things. We treat them differently.

If an answer looks wrongAccuracy is built in — for everyone.

Ochre Compass exists to be trustworthy, so accuracy feedback isn't a premium extra — everyone has it. Spot something off, and one tap sends it to us. Every report is reviewed by a person, and verified corrections flow through to all users. We'd rather you flag it than quietly stop trusting it.

If something's brokenWe're here — the same for everyone.

Email us and we'll get to it, best-effort within a couple of business days (WA time). Compass is one shared, always-improving product, so every fix and improvement reaches all users at once. There's no “premium support” tier to buy — because there's nothing better we'd be holding back.

Ochre Compass is a research aid, not a substitute for professional or legal judgement. It's built to refuse rather than guess.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What's in Ochre Compass right now?
The national frameworks a WA practice reaches for most — the NEPM (Assessment of Site Contamination) Measure, PFAS NEMP, and EPBC — plus Western Australian environmental legislation and drinking-water guidance. Every source is properly attributed, and we're steadily adding other jurisdictions as licensing is cleared.
How is this different from a web search or a general AI chatbot?
Compass only answers from a curated corpus of actual Australian regulatory instruments, and it shows you the source behind every answer. It won't invent a screening value or guess a number — if it doesn't have something, it tells you. That restraint is the whole point.
Where does my data go? Is it private?
Compass runs on Ochre Systems' own hardware in Western Australia — not an overseas cloud. Your questions aren't sold or shared, and your conversation history stays in your browser. Voice input is transcribed on our own server and never sent to any third-party service.
Isn't Ochre Systems meant to be air-gapped?
Two products, two postures. Compass works with public regulatory data and is delivered over the web, hosted sovereignly in WA. Our Laterite platform — which handles your actual client and site data — runs entirely on-premise and never touches the internet. You pick the tool that fits the job.
How accurate is it, and what happens if it's wrong?
Every answer is grounded in a cited source and built to refuse rather than guess. If you ever see something off, one tap sends it to us — a person reviews every report, and verified corrections reach all users. Compass is a research aid, not a replacement for your professional judgement.
Can I try it before I pay?
Yes — it starts with a free 30-day trial. You get the complete product, and there's no charge for 30 days; cancel any time before the trial ends and you won't be billed. Prefer a guided look first? Get in touch and we'll walk you through Compass on the kind of questions you actually ask.
How does it work for a team?
There are no tiers or seat licences to manage — each person simply subscribes for themselves at $65 a year (easy to expense). If you'd prefer a single invoice for several people, get in touch and we'll set that up for you.
Can I use it on more than one device?
Yes — each subscription works on up to two devices, so your laptop and phone are both covered. Signing in on a third device just asks you to sign one of the others out.
What do I need to run it?
Nothing to install. Compass works in any browser — phone, tablet, or desktop — including voice input. If you can open a website, you can use it.
Free trial & billingYour subscription starts free for 30 days — no charge until the trial ends. After that, billed annually in AUD plus GST, per person. Cancel anytime from your account; you keep access to the end of your paid period.
Unlimited, within reasonCompass runs on our own sovereign hardware, so “unlimited” is backed by a fair-use policy — ample for any real consulting workload, just not automated bulk querying.
Not legal adviceCompass summarises and cites public regulatory material to help you find and understand it. It's a research aid, not a substitute for professional or legal judgement.
